RSL launches new intranet powered by Teams, Viva and SharePoint

Refrigerative Supply Limited (“RSL”) needed a Microsoft-based intranet that would be quickly adopted by its growing number of employees and branches. Tangowork helped make that happen.

RSL is an HVAC and refrigeration distribution company serving four provinces in Western Canada. With 350 employees, the company serves its customers from 18 branches and four distribution centers.

After almost doubling headcount in three years, RSL was outgrowing its existing communication and collaboration systems. They had invested in Microsoft 365, but they needed assistance to leverage it more fully. They turned to Tangowork.

We worked closely with RSL’s Communications team to conduct user research and understand stakeholder needs. Through interviews and workshops, we arrived at a set of user journeys and use cases that described the ultimate intranet for RSL. Then we set about building it.

First, we helped RSL make fuller use of Microsoft Teams. Next, we planned and deployed employee communities in Yammer. After a content audit and several rounds of user testing, we designed and built an intranet in SharePoint. And finally, we used Viva Communications and Viva Engage to bring it all together in Microsoft Teams.

Teams is now the center of RSL’s digital workplace. Employees seamlessly flow from chats, to intranet searches, to Yammer updates, all from within the familiar and easy-to-use Microsoft Teams environment.
